Water, Food and Snacks. Oh, my! | Eating at the Walt Disney World resort

June 26, 2018

Welcome back to Light of Day! Today on the blog I'm serving up some facts about Disney snacks.

Aside from the tickets and resort stay, the other highest expense for families vacationing at Walt Disney World is food!

For starters, keep in mind that when vacationing in Florida, it will be hot! Water is essential and you are allowed to bring your own supply into the parks. However, bottles of water can get pretty heavy when shoved into a book bag that will likely be worn for a long time. If you’re like me and don’t like to carry things, but also don’t want to dehydrate or spend $4 on a 16oz bottle of water, I have a secret for you!

There is a Starbucks at every Disney park and you can ask for a venti sized ice water for free! Yes, free!

Along with the free water at Starbucks, some of the quick service restaurants have small cups of ice water prepared to hand out to thirsty guests.

So, next time you’re in the parks, skip the bottles and follow the scent of coffee.

Next up on the Disney food hacks is snacks!

For some reason, guests have the impression that they are not allowed to bring food into the parks.

This is FALSE.

When you go through security at the Transportation and Ticket Center they are searching for weapons, not food.

Pack your snacks, pack your lunches and bring them into the park! There are plenty of areas for open seating that will allow you and your family to eat food from home while still soaking in all of the Disney views.

If carrying food around in a back pack doesn’t sound ideal, you’re in luck! Lockers are available for rent for an entire day at all of the Disney parks. While renting one of these lockers will cost you, it will be just a small fraction of what your Disney meal would have costed.

Okay, okay. For those of you out there who don’t want to bring food into the parks but also don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on your Disney food, there is hope for you too!

Guests staying at any of the Walt Disney World resorts have the option to take part in a Disney dining plan.

There are three tiers to the Disney dining plan including the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan, the Standard Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan.

These dining plans offer guests the option to freely choose their meals for a bundled price.

More information on the Disney dining plans can be found at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/plans/

Hopefully this information will help you experience the magic for less on your next trip to Walt Disney World.

Talk to you next time on Light of Day!
